China - Jian Dui (Sesame Balls)
Stepping out of my comfort zone for this one! I’m kind of obsessed with how beautifully round these came out. Once the pastries have cooled, you're left with a large ball of sesame fried dough, which is completely hollow until you reach the red bean filling. Something totally different to the desserts I typically make/eat.
Since these are quite technical, and I had no previous experience making these, I needed a well tested recipe. After much research, I decided to use @thewoksoflife recipe. It was perfect. Really in-depth instructions with lots of handy tips.
